A Name

Two dreams came today, or at least i think they were both dreams. I was on a huge map. It seemed to be of the united states. I saw the child from my memory on the other side of the map. i tried my hardest to reach him, but when i tried to step off of the state i was on, I fell through the map as if it were just a hologram, only to land back on Vermont. I had just given up hope of ever reaching the child, when i noticed that some of the states' names were in bold, 10 to be exact.

1. Vermont
2. Connecticut
3. Virginia
4. Tennessee
5. New York
   
6. Kentucky
7. Indiana
8. Illinois
9. North Carolina
10. Pennsylvania
    

I could walk on these states, but i couldn't work out any path that would lead me to the child standing on Illinois.
Soon my dream faded, but instead of returning to my darkness, i ended up in an are of complete light. There was nothing in this light besides myself, but i could feel a presence, as if i was being watched. Suddenly i heard a voice, it called me Daniel. It told me that i was in a place called the triangelic abyss. It explained that i was here to reflect on my life and that soon as i had done that, that i would be free to leave. It told me that my dreams contained fragments of my memory, and that i should try to recover them. I will undoubtedly need your help with this
